Whoolie Robicheaux, LMT

My name is Whoolie (pronounced who-lee). After four years as a massage therapist, I can positively say it has changed my view on life for the better.

I’m originally from Louisiana, and that had a large influence on the way I viewed healing the body. I came into massage therapy thinking it would help me reach the next step in my life. Little did I know, it would completely change the trajectory of my life. Once I realized there was a natural way to heal the body, my eyes opened to a whole new world. I am now enrolled in herbalism school and educating myself on acupuncture, in hopes of eventually becoming an acupuncturist as well.

I have particularly fallen in love with two aspects of massage therapy.

The first is the emotional side of the work. Being an empath, I pour a lot of heart into every session, and that shines especially in prenatal sessions. Pregnancy is such an exciting time in my clients’ lives, but it also comes with many new physical, mental, and emotional changes in the body. Seeing the relief on these clients’ faces when a session is complete is so rewarding, and it reaffirms my passion for this field.

The second part of massage therapy that really drives me is the pain relief that deep tissue massage can bring while keeping the nervous system engaged. I help my clients understand the importance of reaching those deeper layers, while I pay close attention to changes in their breathing and keep open communication about pain levels throughout. This has become one of my most effective approaches. It’s a fine line, but with my strong intuition, I enjoy the challenge and the benefits that come with it.

I moved to the Pacific Northwest within the last two years, and I absolutely adore the charm and nature that surround it. Even more recently, I moved to Astoria with my wife, our dog, and our two cats. We’re excited to explore the area and take part in all the small-town community events.

I am not yet credentialed with health insurance companies, but can bill Motor Vehicle Accident insurance (MVA) and worker’s compensation claims as well as regular cash payment.
