Work at WW

We are so happy you’re considering joining the Watershed Wellness team! We have a passionate, talented, and friendly group delivering the highest quality holistic healthcare to an appreciative community. And we’re privileged to do so in one of the most beautiful clinic locations you can imagine on Pier 1 in the mighty Columbia River.

The first step in your journey to employment at Watershed Wellness is learning more about the clinic, its founders, our vision & how we approach the healing work we do. WW is not just a random assembly of practitioners, passing like ships in the night. Instead, we’re a coordinated team all contributing our talents to create space for truly resonant wellness here on the Oregon Coast.

The vision and values are essential.

Before you proceed – an important note. Please don’t skip it.

Astoria is a unique town in a unique region. The climate is often cold, windy & rainy, with mild summers. The social environment can make building friendships & dating a challenge for some. The nightlife options are limited – particularly in the off-season. Self-reliant people and those who trend more in an introverted direction will thrive, while those who require a lot of novel social stimulation may struggle. That said, it is one of the most beautiful places in the world, with ample outdoor recreation opportunities, a rich history and a growing collection of eclectic shops, great restaurants & important services.

Once you’re familiar with the clinic, you should look at the positions available below. Follow the links, read through the information, and if you think you’re a good fit – follow the instructions to apply. If you have any questions, just reach out.

We look forward to getting to know you!

Licensed Massage Therapist

As of October 2023, we are looking for 1-2 LMTs.

Massage therapy is one of the foundations of how we deliver deep wellness to the North Coast community. We welcome people with diverse styles and skill sets and at various levels of experience.

That said, Watershed Wellness IS NOT A SPA. If your primary goal is to engage in spa-like treatments, or if you have no interest in clinical care of people with serious musculoskeletal pathology, you will not thrive here. You will be required to do medical charting and regularly collaborate with other healthcare providers. This is a position for people who want to explore the full range of possibilities of therapeutic touch.

This is an employment position with a tiered compensation system that includes hourly plus commission and tips. We intend these to be career positions with room for growth – so bring your passion and your aspirations for developing your professional skill set. A variety of shifts are available & this position does come with benefits.

To apply, please submit your resume, cover letter & references on our website. If you do not receive a response within 2 business days, it would be appropriate to give a call (503-974-0914) or reach out using our contact form.

Licensed Acupuncturist

As of October 2023, we are looking for 1 LAc.

Acupuncture and Chinese herbs are in high demand in our region. With few practitioners available, you will find yourself immediately busy and beloved by people who deeply need your work. Interest and skill in treating musculoskeletal pain is a must – but we welcome a range of specializations & orientations so long as you are grounded in the classical/traditional medicine.

We are interested in connecting with one of the two following types of practitioners. On the one hand, someone with ample experience who is looking for a change of location and a refreshed perspective. This practitioner should have a lot of experience and confidence in treating musculoskeletal pain – big bonus if you enjoy incorporating cupping, guasha and other manual therapy techniques. We’re also interested in finding someone with an interest in facial rejuvenation acupuncture – but the pain relief focus is non-negotiable.

On the other hand, we’re happy to consider newly licensed practitioners who are looking to apprentice with Eric Grey, MS, LAc. This practitioner should have an open mind and a willingness to spend many paid and unpaid hours in study, patient shadowing & case review outside of normal clinic duties. A powerful interest in Classical Chinese herbalism is an absolute must – but you needn’t have any particular education or experience in that area. Interest and energy are the real prerequisites. Like the more experienced practitioner, an interest in pain relief acupuncture is also required.
